What is ELDOA
ELDOA
ELDOA is among the popular therapeutic exercise methods – that include a series of complex techniques – helpful for several reasons- such as sports training, rehabilitation from an injury, eliminating back pain, improving the connection between mind & body, and whatnot. If you are wondering how it works & beyond – you are at the right place.
What is ELDOA?
ELDOA is a groundbreaking treatment developed by world-renowned osteopath Dr. Guy VOYER. ELDOA is a French acronym and if translated into English – it stands for LOADS (Longitudinal Osteo-Articular Decoaptation Stretching).
LOADS represents:
- Longitudinal: along the length (relating to the spine)
- Osteo – referring to bones
- Articular – referring to the joint or joints.
- Decoaptation: the separation of tissues
- Stretches – stretches!

Each ELDOA posture uses a variety of intricate strategies to generate space within the body’s joints, vertebrae, and ligaments by utilizing myofascial stretching, tension, and contraction of the muscles. This technique decreases compression in the joints to improve circulation and reduce chronic pain, back pain, arthritis, nerve disorders, and even injury recovery.

What are the benefits of ELDOA?
ELDOA postures are held for just one minute. In that brief time, ELDOA can bring a range of benefits:
- Relieves pressure on spinal discs and nerves
- Increases flexibility and range of motion
- Enhances circulation and blood flow
- Strengthens and stabilizes muscles around the spine and joints
- Supports injury prevention and recovery
- Helps manage and prevent joint degeneration
- Boosts overall mobility and athletic performance
- Relieves hip and sacroiliac pain
- Eases shoulder and neck pain
- Positively affects the cardiac, respiratory, and digestive systems
- Improves the mind-body connection
ELDOA Training and Certifications
The extensive six-level ELDOA Certification Program can take around 2 to 4 years – with each level emphasizing the practical application of ELDOA and teaching you the scientific principles of anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, and tension.
Take this extensive training program with us & become a certified ELDOA trainer. We offer a hands-on approach that ensures students learn the clinical application and develop the practical and visual cues to become skilled ELDOA Practitioners.
Level 1 - Student Practitioner - The Most Used ELDOA of the Spine

EXAM: This course does not have an exam.
CERTIFICATION: After completing the program, the participant will be certified as an ELDOA Student Practitioner Level.

Level 2 - Student Practitioner - ELDOA of the Spine - Spinal Segments from L5/S1 to C2/C3
ELDOA Level 2 is a three-day training focused on ELDOA exercises for the spine. Day 1 consists of a review of ELDOA 1, while Days 2 and 3 involve the ELDOA exercises for the spine ranging from C2–3 to L5–S1.

Lecture Topics Include:
- Philosophy of ELDOA: “You are your own best therapist”
- Back pain: Treating symptoms vs. ELDOA: Addressing the root cause
- Overview of general anatomy
- Explanation of spine biomechanics and movement
- Function of the spine unit (Junghans) and the role of intervertebral discs
- Introduction to the dura mater, cerebrospinal fluid, and respiratory mechanics
- Water physiology at the cellular level: Intercellular vs. extracellular
- Description and biomechanics of the intervertebral disc
- Practice of ELDOA postures from C2-C3 to L5-S1
- Teaching principles: Awareness, MFS (Myofascial Stretching), Lemniscate, and progression factors
The goal of ELDOA Level 2 is to give students a deep understanding of the anatomy, mechanics, and tensegrity principles behind ELDOA, along with practical experience. This will enable you to apply what you’ve learned first for yourself and then with clients or patients to achieve great results.
Prerequisites: Students must have completed ELDOA Level 1.
EXAM: This course does not have an exam.
CERTIFICATION: Participants will receive a certification upon completion of the course, designating them as ELDOA Student Practitioner Level 2.
Combination Course - LEVEL 1 & 2 - Student Practitioner
The combination Level 1 & 2 course is designed for those who already understand anatomy and biomechanics; trainers, pilates instructors, physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths, medical doctors, and anyone who would benefit from an intensive format.

LEVEL 3 - Student Practitioner - ELDOA of the Hips, Shoulder, Ribcage, and Sternum
This course includes decapitation, anatomy, and biomechanics for the hip joints, shoulders, sternum, and rib cage, and an in-depth level of the anatomical and mechanical principles of the limb joints with plenty of practical experience.
Lecture Topics Include:
- Recap of ELDOA Levels 1 and 2
- Detailed anatomy and movement mechanics of the hip
- ELDOA methods for the hip region
- Anatomy and biomechanics of the shoulder complex
- ELDOA techniques for the shoulder
- Anatomy and function of the trunk, ribcage, and sternum
- ELDOA exercises for the ribcage and sternum
- Key progression factors
- Introduction to fascia
- Importance of maintaining a regular home routine
Prerequisites: Students must finish Levels 1 and 2 of ELDOA.
EXAM: This course does not have an exam.
CERTIFICATION: Students who successfully complete this course will get a certification and are qualified as an ELDOA Student Practitioner Level 3.

LEVEL 4 - Certified ELDOA Trainer - ELDOA for the Pelvis: The Sacroiliac Joint and the Pubic Symphysis
Taught exclusively by Guy VOYER, DO, this course reviews ELDOA Levels 1, 2, and 3, focusing on how tensegrity biomechanics work and answering any questions about the techniques and practice covered in these courses.
Next, the course looks at the anatomy of the pelvic girdle, sacroiliac joint, and pubic symphysis. You’ll also learn about the biomechanics of the pelvis, including its 22 axes of rotation.
On days 3 and 4, you’ll practice tests for these 22 axes, and on the final day, you’ll learn ELDOA exercises for the sacroiliac joint and pubic symphysis.
Prerequisites: You must complete ELDOA Levels 1, 2, or 3, or the Somatraining program.
EXAM: There will be an exam for this course.
CERTIFICATION: After completing the course, you will receive a certification, allowing you to work with clients, lead ELDOA group classes, or even work with therapists.
Level 5 - Certified ELDOA Therapist
ELDOA Level 5 is split into three parts, taught exclusively by Guy VOYER, DO:
- 5.1 (4 days)
- 5.2 (4 days)
- 5.3 (3 days)
ELDOA Level 5 includes increasing the participant’s knowledge of spinal pathology and back pain beyond the basics taught in Levels 1-4. The individuals must understand both normal and abnormal spine function, as well as degenerative conditions.
The goal of Level 5:
The goal of Level 5 is it aims to provide an in-depth understanding of anatomical, classic, and tensegrity biomechanics related to spinal disorders. This knowledge will enable therapists to work in a gym, sports team, clinic, and other settings with all elements of back pain or performance, from a recognized ELDOA group class to one-on-one private sessions, either sport-specific or for specific spinal diseases.

LEVEL 6 - TOP-LEVEL PROGRAM
This course includes a comprehensive review of all 5 ELDOA program levels using tensegrity biomechanics and specific adaptations of the classic postures taught in levels 1-5.
Level Six is divided into two sections.
The first section focuses on the technological methods and the tensegrity biomechanics. In the second phase, practitioners will take a test to demonstrate their degree of skill with the topic, followed by graduation.
